Lightning strikes home in Flatlands; causes fire

A house caught on fire after it was struck by lightning on Wednesday. 
Neighbors in Flatlands say the incident was unexpected. 
Firefighters told News 12 the fire started just before 5:30 p.m. in the attic of a two-story house. 
Approximately 60 firefighters and 12 emergency response vehicles were at the scene working to control the fire. It took personnel about half an hour to knock down the flames. 
There is some damage to the top part of the home. 
No injuries were reported.
