The star of a series of short plays in the borough is not your typical Brooklyn actor -- he walks on all fours and is paid in treats.
Boscoe Barles is a Shih tzu that's playing all sorts of roles in this weekend's "Boscoe Barles Bestival." It's a series of five sketches, each about six to 10 minutes long, at the Brick in Williamsburg.
It's not the pup's first time on stage – he's had roles in several other off-off-Broadway shows at The Brick. His owner says he was born to be in the spotlight.
All proceeds will be going to the Brooklyn Animal Resource coalition to help more pups like Boscoe find homes.
In addition to Boscoe showing off his tricks, there's music and comedy, and the sketches include human actors interacting with the pup, too.
