An off-duty NYPD officer and a passenger were both killed in a crash Sunday on the Henry Hudson Parkway in Manhattan.

It happened near West 96th Street shortly before 4 a.m. The car carrying the two crashed into a tree and caught fire.

Police have identified the victims as 24-year-old Kimberly Lajara and 32-year-old Oscar Monegro.

Reports say Lajara was the off-duty officer.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash caused closures and massive delays along the parkway.

Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted about the crash, saying, "We're mourning the loss of one of New York's finest today. We lost an NYPD officer after a terrible car crash early this morning. We send our deepest condolences to their family, friends and brothers and sisters in the NYPD."

Police say an investigation into the crash is underway.
