Advocate pushes for bike safety after cyclist death in Brooklyn

Advocate Jumaane Williams is using his bike to make a statement.
Williams, along with cyclist advocates, say enough is enough after 52-year-old Jose Alzorriz was killed on Sunday.
Police say he died and two other people were injured after a car crash in Midwood. Surveillance video shows the moment the incident occurred, and investigators say the driver ran a red light, which caused the chain of events.
Alzoris brings the number of cyclists fatalities to 19 so far this year.
Last month, 28-year-old Devra Freelander was hit and killed by a cement truck on Bushwick Avenue and Boerum Street.
One city councilman said it's time to take it further. He is advocating to shut the city down if another cyclist dies on New York streets.
The councilman is also advocating that the city should automatically redesign streets after a cyclist is killed and build more protected bike lanes.
