Members of the NYPD took on players of Ballin 4 Peace for the fifth annual Celebrity Charity Flag Football Game at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Organizers say this is the first year they decided to have police officers be part of the event. They their goal is to foster unity between the NYPD and young members of the community.
Ballin 4 Peace is an organization committed to raising awareness related to acts of violence in New York and beyond. It delivers an outlet for inner-city youth to interface with celebrities to promote peace through sports.
Children were able to get free school supplies from the Uplife Foundation because of the proceeds made from the event.
Organizers say they plan to keep the NYPD on board for next year's event.
