Severe thunderstorm warning, heat advisory in effect for parts of LI

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for part of Nassau County in addition to a heat advisory, which is in effect for portions of Nassau and Suffolk Monday.
 

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for western Nassau County until 5 p.m.

The heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. for Nassau and Western Suffolk counties.

Hazy, hot and humid conditions with temperatures in the upper-80s could produce late-day thunderstorms.

WEATHER CENTER

The evening is expected to see partly cloudy skies with warm and muggy conditions.

News 12 meteorologists say that Tuesday will see similar humid conditions with possible thunderstorms.

Wednesday and Thursday are also likely to see scattered showers with highs in the mid-80s.

The weekend is looking sunny and much less humid.
