Many are mourning the life of a man who they say brought the community together in Brownsville.
Arsenio Gravesande, 28, was one of five New York City homicide victims in a span of 24 hours.
News 12 got to speak with family members who say he was loved.
Police say the father of two was found with a gunshot wound to his left hip Tuesday evening. Police say he was shot at the corner of Union Street and Sutter Avenue.
Gravesande was taken to Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead. He had known famous rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed in California earlier this year.
The latest police statistics show that there have been three murders in the 73rd Precinct in the past 28 days.
Candles were lit in memory of Gravesande.
