The Afropunk Festival is back in the borough this weekend for the 15th year of music, art and conversation.
Afropunk is a weekend-long event held in Commodore Barry Park to celebrate the intersection of African American and punk cultures.
Organizers say it elevates unheard voices within the black community and redefines the urban experience.
Thousands from across the Northeast can listen to inspirational speakers, as well as check out art, fashion, music and comedy.
More than 60 bands and DJs will perform over the course of the weekend.
The festival has spread to the rest of the world and is headed to Atlanta in October.
