Police: Man fatally shot in the head on East 28th Street in Flatbush

A Flatbush man is dead after a shooting Thursday night.

Police say it happened just before 9 p.m. in front of 247 E. 28th St.

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old James Dorce who is believed to have lived nearby.

Investigators tell News 12 he was standing on East 28th Street between Clarendon Road and Cortelyou Road when someone pulled up in a dark colored SUV and started shooting.

Police tell News 12 he was shot once in the head. His friends that were with him rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
