Hundreds of passengers were evacuated from a train Sunday morning near the High Street-Brooklyn Bridge station after smoke was seen in the tunnel nearby.
Fire officials say the call came in around 10:30 a.m. FDNY and EMS crews responded to the incident and escorted passengers back to the platform safely.
No injuries were reported.
MTA officials tweeted that there was a mechanical problem that caused the train to activate its brakes, creating the smoky conditions.
Crews were done with their operations within an hour.
