Police have identified the 72-year-old Long Island man who was killed in a crash Thursday night in Greenpoint.

They say the victim has been identified as Juan Mendez. 

The accident happened Thursday night outside 59 Paidge Avenue where police say a Ford Explorer hit a security booth with Mendez inside.

The driver wasn't hurt but Mendez was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver stayed on scene and police say no arrests have been made. 

This investigation is ongoing.
