Some students in the Brooklyn got a head start on climate advocacy Monday.

The students at the 1199 SEIU Future of America Learning Center may be small, but the little advocates - from 18 months to 4 years old - hit the streets in their neighborhood with teachers and family members for a Climate Change Action Campaign Walk.                                                        

The students have been learning about climate change in ways they can relate to. The walk is a prelude to Friday’s Global Climate Strike, ahead of the United Nations Climate Summit.

In the city, public school students were given the OK by the Department of Education to skip class and march from Foley Square to Battery Park in Manhattan to advocate for their future and the future of their planet.

Some members of Monday’s walk will be in attendance at Friday’s event, but they will first take a trip to the U.N., where they will deliver their science experiments and their work to the General Assembly
