A hit-and-run crash in East New York left a man in serious condition, authorities say.

Police say a pedestrian was trying to cross North Conduit Boulevard near Crescent Street around 3:30 a.m. today.

They say the victim was hit by a black SUV. The vehicle then drove off.

The NYPD has not identified the victim, but say he is a 47-year-old man.

Authorities say that his injuries are life-threatening. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition.

Detectives were on the scene trying to find evidence that will help them find the driver of the vehicle. They are looking at several surveillance cameras in the area that may have caught the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators.
