Group of seniors to enjoy affordable, supportive housing development in Flatbush

Posted: Updated:

A group of seniors in Brooklyn will soon be able to live in a brand-new affordable and supportive housing development in East Flatbush.

The $20 million property at 333 Lenox Road is bringing 58 units owned and operated by Selfhelp Community Services. The housing will help meet the special needs of aging residents in Brooklyn.

This will ensure that they have an age-friendly environment where they can live independently and comfortably.

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul says this project is important for members of the community.

The 13-story building is home to 24 studios and 33 one-bedroom apartments. All of the apartments are occupied by seniors with incomes at or below 60% of the area median income.

The building also has senior-friendly amenities like emergency pull cords, social work services provided by SelfHelp active services, community spaces and more.
