Posted: Updated:

Police say an emotionally disturbed woman barricaded herself inside a Bay Ridge building on 95th Street and Fourth Avenue Wednesday.

Video was captured showing the chaotic scene as police had to block off the area of Fourth Avenue between 94th and 95th streets around 4:30 p.m. Police rerouted traffic and evacuated the surrounding area.

Hostage negotiation and technical assistance units were called to the scene.

Police eventually took the woman into custody. She was then taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

Police have not confirmed whether or not the woman had a weapon.
