Volunteers for kosher soup kitchen prepare for Jewish New Year

A kosher soup kitchen is ensuring nobody goes hungry before Rosh Hashanah.
Volunteers at Masbia Soup Kitchen in Borough Park are expecting business to pick up with the Jewish New Year right around the corner.
Pantry shelves at the food kitchen are stacked with fresh produce like apples, potatoes and non-perishable goods.
One father and son team even came from a local church to give back to the community.
Director Alexander Rapaport says while Masbia Soup Kitchen is kosher, anyone in need of a meal is welcome.
He says the soup kitchen is different than others because it is structured more like a restaurant with pantry shelves for the company and dignity of those who come in.
Masbia has a network of three soup kitchens in Brooklyn and Queens. Rapaport says some people may even be working the holiday.
