Fire crews responded to a brush fire Saturday near the Canarsie Pier and the Paerdegat Basin Bridge.
Fire officials say the flames sparked around 2 p.m. and were brought under control in about two hours.
Video shows smoke billowing into the sky as helicopters from the NYPD's Aviation Unit use a so-called "bambi bucket" to douse the flames with water.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
