Street co-naming in Clinton Hill honors jazz pioneer Dr. Randy Weston

Dozens of Brooklyn residents were gathering along Lafayette Avenue in Clinton Hill Sunday for a street co-naming ceremony to celebrate and honor jazz pioneer Dr. Randy Weston.
Lafayette Avenue is now co-named Randy Weston Way.
Weston was a pianist and composer, and his music was inspired by his African roots. He died last September at age 92.
Loved ones say the street co-naming is important to the area because Weston grew up on the street and left an impact on the community.
They say they plan to continue their efforts to keep Weston's name alive.
