A Brooklyn resident is alerting neighbors after a package for his young son was swiped right off his porch in Bensonhurst.

Yuri Nazarov says his 10-year-old son was awaiting the arrival of a new pair of sneakers. Nazarov said his son texted him about a box on their front porch on Tuesday.

Nazarov said his son said it looked like his shoes had arrived but he wasn't sure. When he checked the security cameras, they told a complete story about what happened.

"I see this guy coming in, very nonchalantly on his phone, with the shopping bag in hand. He walks slowly onto the house, sits down makes himself comfortable, opens package by package, there were two packages, puts them in a bag and walks away," said Nazarov.

Police say they are now investigating the case as a petit larceny.

Neighbors say they are fearful about running into the same problem. Nazarov says he hopes this experience won't be the same for anyone else.

He is asking neighbors to be careful.
