Three Brooklyn residents host a popular podcast and social media account that aims to highlight what it's like to grow up Italian in New York City.
The Instagram account Growing Up Italian has almost 90,000 followers. Rocco Loguercio, Michela Curcio and Sabino Curcio are siblings and cousins.
They started the meme page as a hobby, but now in addition to their page, they host a popular weekly podcast highlighting their culture and traditions.
The podcast combines humor and current events. They discuss food, holidays, superstitions, sports and more.
They say the response to their work has been outstanding, with thousands of people thanking them, laughing with them and reacting to their posts. They've even had some big names come on the show.
They say their pride in their culture and common traditions resonate among Italian Americans, not just in New York, but around the country as well.
They say they're now hoping to do more social events as an outreach to help other Italian Americans feel the same sense of pride and love for their culture as they do.
