Hannah Kliger is reporter at News 12 Brooklyn, and she loves her job! Most days, she operates like a one-woman band around her favorite city in the world, but sometimes she also puts together investigative stories and special reports about issues affecting our community. Hannah joined News 12 in 2016 as a freelance producer. After juggling multiple hats in the newsroom, she focused on her dream to be a reporter in her home borough. Before she was at News 12, she worked as an associate producer for NYC-TV at the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
Hannah graduated, cum laude, from New York University in 2015 with a double major in broadcast journalism and political science. She decided to pursue a career in the news while she attended Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, where she took various broadcasting classes and wrote for her school’s publications. From Hurricane Sandy, to opening day in Coney Island, Hannah knew she belonged in the news industry because she was inspired by the resilience, creativity, and diversity of her fellow New Yorkers.
She is bilingual in Russian and English, and also speaks some Italian. She has previously interned with "60 Minutes" at CBS, "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, "Inside City Hall" on NY1 and was on-air as a morning show co-host at Thunder 102 in upstate New York.
Hannah is a former competitive ballroom dancer and USA Dance national champion. When she is not watching, reading, studying, or presenting the news, Hannah likes to ski, travel, and spend time with her loved ones.
