Elected officials, activists remember the lives of 4 killed in Crown Heights shooting

Posted: Updated:

Elected officials and anti-violence activists came together Monday night to remember the four people killed in a shooting over the weekend.

What started as a vigil turned into a call to action. Activists joined elected officials to denounce the gun violence that resulted in four deaths.

They praised the work of Grassroots anti-violence groups in the community. They also say more resources are needed to crack down this case.

Officials say four men died and another three people were injured after a shooting at a possible gambling location at 74 Utica Ave. in Crown Heights Saturday morning.

Investigators say at least 15 shots were fired. They estimate that at least 15 people were inside the location at the time of the shooting.

Police have not yet made any arrests.
