A man is recovering after being hit by his own car as it was being stolen in Crown Heights Friday.

Police say it happened around 10:30 a.m. in front of 487 St. John's Place. They say the victim left his parked Honda running when an unknown man jumped in and tried to take off.

They say the victim then jumped on the hood of his car and attempted to stop it from being stolen. However, they say the suspect continued to drive and hit a parked car.

Police say the victim was ejected off the hood of the vehicle. They say he was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

Police are still looking to locate the stolen vehicle.
