Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection to a purse snatching in Morris Heights.

It happened on Oct. 25 near the intersection of Grand Concourse and 175 Street around 2 a.m.

News 12 is told the 18-year-old victim was walking into her apartment complex and held the door for the unknown man walking in behind her.

Once inside she says he went after her and grabbed her purse before fleeing the area. The suspect is facing a potential grand larceny charge. News 12 is told that a cellphone, Social Security card and other items were inside the woman's bag.

The suspect is believed to be between 20 to 30 years old and about 6 feet tall.

News 12 is told the victim was not injured during the interaction.
