Officials say a major water main break shut down a major road in Sunset Park Sunday morning.
It happened around 4 a.m. at Fifth Avenue and 44th Street. By noon, officials announced the water had been shut off and the leak has stopped. Remaining water is being drained into catch basins and crews have begun to make repairs to the water main.
The MTA says it affected B63 bus service in the area.

Video from the scene showed water gushing from the road, which appears to be damaged. The Department of Environmental Protection and the NYPD have the road blocked off between 45th and 39th streets.
Neighbors tell News 12 their water has been affected or they have no water. Others say they have little water, and it's coming out brown.
Assemblyman Felix Ortiz's office is working to set up a water distribution location to get clean bottled water to residents.
