Brooklyn’s virtual reality arcade Vrbar offers an escape from reality

DUMBO -

A quick escape from reality isn't far from reach in Brooklyn.

Kishore Doddi is the creator and found of Vrbar in DUMBO, a virtual reality arcade that started as a small pop-up in Park Slope.

Vrbar quickly became popular, and Doddi decided to expand the space with a dozen VR stations offering more than 30 different virtual worlds.

"You may be surprised you feel like you’re in that world even in a computer graphic-y thing. It just completely surrounds you everything is full 3D stereoscopic. It really looks realistic in a certain sense," says Doddi.

Vrbar offers many different types of virtual reality.

"If you ask some people with the plank experience who have crawled on our floors or have been shaking and sweating, it’s very, very real,” says Doddi.

Gamers can book sessions anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to escape to another world.

“Part of the reason I created it is to give everyone access to these amazing experiences, amazing tech. I think it’s incredible,” says Doddi.
