Police are searching for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman just before sunrise Thanksgiving morning in Bensonhurst.

Police say the man tried to force the woman between two parked cars. Sources say it happened around 5:45 a.m. near 66th Street and 20th Avenue.

Police say the victim is a 48-year-old woman. The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt.

Police say the man started a conversation with the woman before grabbing her neck and trying to force her between the unattended vehicles.

Another car driving by scared the suspect off, according to police. The suspect ran eastbound down 66th Street.

News 12 is told the victim refused medical attention and suffered a minor injury on her finger.
