The Garden has been a Greenpoint staple for 25 years and it closed its doors to the community permanently Sunday.
The family-owned health food market and grocery store was on the corner of Kent Street and Manhattan Avenue.
Many neighbors and members of the community came to say goodbye and say a final farewell to the pioneering store.
Owner Marius Tapper cites the growth of online shopping and chain grocery stores as a big impact on their business, resulting in a major loss of sales.
Tapper says a new store may be moving in to The Garden's former location and they will look to hire some of his old employees.
News 12 has not received word on when that store will open.
