Wake held for slain Ansonia mother as Amber Alert remains in effect
Friends and family said goodbye to a mother from Ansonia found dead in her apartment last week, as the search for her missing child continues.
Mourners arrived at the funeral home on Washington Avenue in Bridgeport to pay their respects to Christine Holloway, who officials say was found with blunt force trauma to the head.
She was the mother to missing 1-year-old Vanessa Morales and a day care instructor who grew up in Bridgeport.
A family friend told News 12 that Holloway and her family volunteered with the Knights of Columbus in Stratford
"She had that compassion with helping people," said Bryan Smith, of Stratford. "Hopefully they find out what happened."
A national Amber Alert remains in effect for Morales.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Church in Bridgeport.
