The city’s Department of Transportation is setting up billboards across New York City to eliminate reckless driving as part of its “Was it Worth it?” campaign.
The billboard and bus signs will be in English, Spanish and Chinese in Vision Zero priority areas.
There will also be ads running during the evening commute on English, Spanish and Haitian Creole radio stations.
The campaign specifically targets men who the DOT says are responsible for 75% of fatal crashes in the city.
The goal is to shift motorist behavior and reduce traffic injuries and fatalities.
The DOT says the holiday can be a dangerous time on the roadways for both motorists and pedestrians and urge anyone drinking not to drive.
