A Freeport man is claiming the village police department abused him and is suing them for $1.8 million dollars.
The lawsuit alleges John Parker was beaten with a baton by police officers during an arrest last year.
According to Newsday, Parker's attorney says the altercation was recorded on a police body camera.
The Freeport Village told News 12 it cannot comment on pending litigation.
The lawsuit comes as the Nassau DA's office is reviewing other allegations of excessive force by the Freeport police. Cellphone video allegedly shows officers repeatedly punching another man during an arrest last week.
