Celebrating a tradition: "Feast of the Seven Fishes"

By Digital Producer Alexa Santos

The Feast of the Seven Fishes is an Italian-American tradition that normally takes place on Christmas Eve.
The menu items vary from household to household, and from restaurant to restaurant. The general idea is to serve seven fish courses.
At Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Garden City, New York, the feast is offered Dec. 1-24.

Executive Chef Ryan Keough says he and his whole team at Spuntino are excited for this year's menu for the Feast of the Seven Fishes.
"When we have a menu like this, it's an easy win table-side," Keough says. "People get excited about how it's developed from each course."
The menu features shrimp ceviche, salmon bruschetta, seared ahi tuna, braised mussels, crispy octopus, sea scallops, and fresh-made pasta with a seafood ragu.
Wine pairings are also available for each course.
