Officials have secured funding for long-needed renovations for the Power Playground in Flatlands.
Along with Borough President Eric Adams, Councilman Alan Maisel got $2.5 million in funding. A few weeks ago at a meeting, residents suggested a dog run, adult track and a pickleball area for the park.
Maisel says fundraising isn't done, since it will ultimately need $7 million to completely transform the green space.
The Parks Department estimates it could take a year to finish design plans.
