A woman was raped and robbed inside her own apartment in Bushwick Thursday, according to police.
It happened inside the 22-year-old victim’s apartment on Central Avenue and Madison Street around 4:30 a.m.
Police say the man, caught on surveillance video, broke the basement window of a residential apartment with a brick.

They say once he entered the building, the woman heard a noise and woke from her sleep before confronting the man.

News 12 is told the suspect then forced the woman to the bedroom where he raped her and then took off with her cellphone and wallet, which contained cash and credit cards.
He is described as thin with a full beard, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and in his 20s. He was last seen wearing blue Adidas sweatpants, a multicolored winter jacket and a light blue crocheted cap.

The victim was taken to Interfaith Hospital and is in stable condition.
