Sources: Suspect who shot, killed woman tried to jump out window

Police say a woman has been shot and killed Thursday evening.
Police say they received the call around 4:20 p.m. at 178 Rockaway Parkway.
Sources say the suspect tried to jump out of a window after the shooting. They say this happened on the second floor of the location.
The 33-year-old woman was shot in the leg and the torso, according to sources. Neighbors tell News 12 they heard cries of "get out, get out" before hearing gunshots.
News 12 is told the man broke his foot when he landed in the backyard and that's where he was found when police got to the scene.
He is in custody at this time. News 12 spoke to a few neighbors who say the woman that died was transgender.
It's not clear if her death was related to her gender identity in any way.
