One couple made the merry area of the decorated homes in Dyker Heights even more special.

Joe Turco, who grew up in Bensonhurst, decided the festively lit up homes in Dyker Heights made the perfect spot to propose to his high school sweetheart.

Anna Carucci, the bride to be from Gravesend, says she had no idea what she was in store for.

However, they say both of their families were in on the surprise.

Turco's family dressed up as Santa while other members stood nearby to snap photos of the moment.

Turco said he chose the area because it's the Carucci family's favorite place to visit during the holidays.

The specific home they got engaged in front of raises money for the foundation, Michael's Cause.

The foundation is named after 13-year-old Michael, of Staten Island, who was diagnosed with a form of muscular dystrophy at four-years-old.

Michael's father says although it's a tough diagnosis, the future is looking bright for his son.

The newly engaged couple says they are looking forward to celebrating with their family.
