Former Giants WR Victor Cruz hosts holiday shopping spree for kids

A former pro footballer treated dozens of kids to a New York City shopping spree Saturday, just in time for the holidays.
Former Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz took students from New Jersey shopping. The kids were from the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson/Passaic, and from Paterson Public Schools.
Cruz is a Paterson native. He spent years in the NFL and with the Giants before retiring in 2018.
Cruz presented each participant with a gift card to shop at Foot Locker or Levi's.
The event was made possible through the Victor Cruz Foundation, which aims to promote positive change in the lives of youth through innovative educational programs.
Cruz says he hopes the biggest takeaway from the event is that giving back is key.
"Just understanding that someone has their best interest at heart, someone is looking to provide resources to them to just do better, and be better," says Cruz.
