Brooklyn man petitions for ‘Baby Yoda’ to be made into an emoji

BROWNSVILLE -

Baby Yoda has stolen many people’s hearts as a character on the Disney + show ‘The Mandalorian’ and as a meme online.

One Brooklyn resident now wants to turn the bright-eyed creature into an emoji.

"I was like you know what this would be a dope emoji and then the memes added onto it,” says Travis Bramble.

Bramble is no stranger to the force of crowdsourcing.

He started a petition to create an emoji for everyone’s new favorite Star Wars character.

"I was a die-hard baby Yoda fan as soon as I saw those beautiful eyes,” says Bramble.

He’s hoping to get the attention of Disney, Apple and Unicode, who create emojis. They say they haven’t gotten a formal request just yet.

"Instead of a smiley face you could send a baby yoga cute little Baby Yoda just, so you know, to lighten the mood,” says Bramble.

If the petition doesn't catch their eye, Bramble hopes a new song will get them to listen.

"The baby Yoda emoji would mean a lot of things, it would mean please ,thank you, if he's in a pod -  I'm sleeping, so don't bother me,” says Bramble.

Bramble hopes to hit a million signatures from fans all over the galaxy by 2020.
