A young boy was rescued from underneath a car Friday after being hit in Flatbush.

Police says it happened just before 1 a.m.

News 12 is told the 9-year-old ran into the street and was hit by a 2012 sedan that was traveling on Avenue D at the time.

Police say the boy was pinned underneath the car, after he was hit. That’s when officers arrived to the scene and rescued him.

He was taken to Maimonides Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police say the driver of the car is a 32-year-old man who is now in police custody. Police say he is suspected of driving while intoxicated.
