Five police officers are suing the NYPD for forcing them to pump breast milk under what they say are filthy conditions.
The class action suit was filed in Brooklyn Federal Court Tuesday and accuses the NYPD of discrimination for not providing hundreds of working moms the proper facilities to pump.
They claim one of the areas they had to pump was in a bug-infested locker room.
The NYPD released a statement saying in part, "Requests to express breast milk are presumed granted upon request to meet the immediate needs of the employee. Additionally, the department continues to maintain an up-to-date written policy on how to request leave to express breast milk as need."
