Clarendon library reopens after 5-month renovation

Posted: Updated:

After being closed for five months, the Clarendon library is officially back open.

A ribbon cutting officially marking the reopening Friday.

While it was closed, News 12 is told new flooring was installed, new paint put on the walls, electrical outlets were added, and new shelving and signs were installed.

Sen. Kevin Parker, who provided $250,000 in funding for the renovation, invited children in the community to read to. The library has been a mainstay in East Flatbush since 1954.

In addition to being a place to read and study, the Clarendon library is also home to an award-winning robotics team.
