A Brooklyn man says his car was stolen from an auto repair shop in Cypress Hills.
The car was parked outside of Romero's Auto Repair along Jamaica Avenue with the keys inside when someone got in the car and drove off. The incident was caught on camera.
Michael Whitfield, the owner of the car, says he does not know the man in the video who first checks out the car, closes the hood of the Cadillac Escalade, gets in and then takes off.
It happened Friday around 2:30 p.m.
The owner of the shop says they have always parked cars and left them on the street as they finish the work, but they have never had any issues like this before.
Whitfield says he has used this repair shop for nearly five years. He says losing the car has affected his catering business and hopes police find the car soon.
The NYPD is investigating. The car is a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade and the license plate number is JPC8231.
