The DMV is offering new options to accommodate what it says is an increase in customers at its locations across the city and on Long Island.
The DMV says it's hiring new employees statewide.
All offices in the city and on Long Island are now opening at 7:30 a.m. -- an hour earlier than before. Some locations are now offering appointments on Saturdays, including the location on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.
The DMV says new office equipment and document authentication devices have been purchased to help expedite license and permit transactions, and the agency is also offering return tickets so drivers can come back and avoid excessive wait times.
