Witnesses: Fight, punches thrown at girls’ basketball game between NJ high schools

A girls’ basketball game between Secaucus High School and Lyndhurst High School ended early following a fight on the court, according to witnesses.

A girls’ basketball game between Secaucus High School and Lyndhurst High School ended early following a fight on the court, according to witnesses.
The fight happened Monday night in Secaucus.
Witnesses say a couple of players started pushing and shoving when a player left the Secaucus bench and joined the fight. Punches were thrown while referees tried to break up the fight.
The teams were sent to the locker room, and the game was not resumed. Fans were asked to exit the gym.
Both teams played their regularly schedule games Tuesday.
There is no word of any punishments related to the fight.
