‘They are lonely, but they came.’ Bensonhurst music festival brings community together

A music festival in Bensonhurst is celebrating talented children in New York while encouraging them to follow their dreams, regardless of their backgrounds.
The festival was organized by Brooklyn-based social club named Aelita.
The founder says she holds festivals like this every few weeks to help bring people together - especially the elderly and immigrant members of the community.
"These are people who generally wouldn't be able to have a celebration like this," says Leonora Bulychova, president of Aelita. "They are lonely, but they came. Here there is a party and they will remember and think about it!"
It also lets children, especially those who come from immigrant families, show off their talents and learn about cultures from around the former Soviet Union.
