Florida man claims abuse by former Boy Scout leader in NYC

Posted: Updated:

A Florida man claims his former Boy Scout leader sexually abused and pimped him out to men in Manhattan when he was a teen living in Brooklyn.

Ronald Hernandez Hunter says Carlos Acevedo molested him inside a tent during a camping trip back in the 70s.

The Boy Scouts of America has since released a statement that reads, in part, “We are heartbroken that there have been times when individuals took advantage of our program to abuse innocent children and we are so sorry for the pain it has caused. We believe victims, we support them, we pay for counseling by a provider of their choice and we encourage them to come forward."

Further information about how the Boy Scouts of America is addressing this particular incident or the victim’s plans moving forward have not yet been released.
