Police: 2-year-old boy struck by car in Bay Ridge

A 2-year-old boy was struck by a car in Bay Ridge Saturday evening on the corner of 5th Avenue and 83rd Street.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m.

Police say the child’s mother was unloading groceries from her car with her two kids. At one point, they say one of the children ran into the street was struck by a northbound Grand Marquis.

The boy was taken to Maimonides Medical Center with minor injuries.

The driver remained on scene and was not charged.
