Police release image of man wanted for attempted rape at Bay Ridge subway station

Police have released an image of the man they are looking for in connection to an attempted rape at a Bay Ridge subway station.

The incident happened Monday at the 95th Street subway station where police say the man followed a 31-year-old woman into a bathroom and attempted to sexually assault her.

Police say the man punched her and tried to pull off her leggings.

News 12 is told a commuter heard her screams and banged on the door until the attacker ran out.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
