Police: 1 dead, suspect on the run in East New York shooting

Police say a 19-year-old man is dead after he was shot in the head in East New York Tuesday night.
Neighbors tell News 12 that they knew Jeremiah Dickey as a quiet boy that never bothered anyone. They say he had an entire life ahead of him and that his life was cut short.
Police say it happened at around 6:45 p.m. on Elton Street and New Lots Avenue.
They say when they arrived at the scene they found the teen unconscious and unresponsive. They say he was later pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
Police say Dickey had two prior arrests back on Jan. 8, 2017, for robbery and resisting arrest.
Police say the suspect is still on the loose at this time. They say the suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue coat with a fur hood.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
