The incident happened inside Luigy Wireless on Myrtle Avenue near the corner of Linden Street at around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The suspect took a cellphone that is worth about $1,400, according to police.

A worker then chased after the alleged thief after he ran out of the store.

Investigators say the suspect scratched the employee until he was able to free himself.
